(Hanford, CA) – The Vidak for Senate campaign announced today that it helped submit almost 5,000 signatures to the Kings County Registrar of Voters to place an initiative on the November 2018 ballot to repeal the Senate Bill 1 gas and car tax increases.
As reported by the Hanford Sentinel: “Ross Sevy, Vidak’s campaign manager, was present when [Justin] Mendes turned in the signatures and [Sevy] said the California State Transportation Agency announced last week that it was allocating $2.4 billion — almost half of the $5 billion tax hike — to transit projects instead of road maintenance.”
Sevy said citizen legislator Andy Vidak “wanted to stress to Valley voters that they shouldn’t have to pay for transit projects in Los Angeles or the Bay Area” that do nothing to relieve traffic congestion.
